Caleb Helms is a third-generation sprint car driver who got started racing go-carts at the age of ten in the summer of 2001. At the end of 2008, Caleb got into a 410 sprint car for ten races. Since then, Caleb has driven both 360's and 410's for Helms Motorsports in two countries, 11 states and 29 different race tracks. In 2012, Helms Motorsports had big plans for racing 360's. However, the beginning of the season brought some major obstacles for the team. Within just five races, Caleb had wrecked three times and damaged three frames and much equipment. Then the team's 360 motor began to have problems and  another 360 they were loaned gave out on him while leading the Knight Before the King's Royal to the checkered flag. Despite these obstacles, 2012 turned out to be Helms Motorsports' most successful year yet. Without a 360 engine, Helms began racing many more 410 events and even started following the All Star Circuit of Champions, which has influenced their plans for the 2013 season. In 2013, Caleb will compete for the All Star's Rookie-of-the-year award as well as the national points title. They will race in several local NW Ohio events as well as many World of Outlaw events such as the Brad Doty Classic, the Kings Royal, the Williams Grove Nationals, the World Finals in Charlotte and more. Helms Motorsports will also be competing in the 53rd annual Knoxville Nationals.

Caleb likes to make it clear that he races by God's grace. "There were many times when people thought I should just get out of racing and many more times when I myself thought I should quit. Thankfully, my dad has never given up on me. How I am still driving sprints and competing at the level I am is amazing to me. But I am confident now and know that we can win. Racing is so exciting to me and I love the whole process; from preparing physically and mentally for each race and each season to the actual following through of all that preparation. The thing about this kind of preparation is that you never know exactly what you are preparing for, only where you want to be when the race is over. Like a good racing friend of mine says, 'I don't think, I just react.' The reason I race by grace is that I know I could do none of this without Jesus and His love. He is my motivation and my success. He has already won THE victory for me and that is the reason we are successful."
